Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

Living with fear of the next time someone will leave you, constantly turbulent relationships, and intense emotional pain is no walk in the park.

That said, those people close to individuals living with BPD often think the BPD sufferer can just “snap out of it,” “grow up,” or just “stop the drama.”

Trust me when I say that I know if you could – you would.

Unfortunately, there are few treatment options that really work for people living with BPD. In fact, the frustration and hopelessness can actually seem to get worse when treatment after treatment seem to fail.

But what can I do?

Stop! Stop putting your time, effort, and energy into treatments shown to have little to no positive outcomes for borderline personality disorder.

There is really good news, though.

DBT works.

We can move through this difficult time together, and you can learn to have healthy and happy relationships with family, friends, and lovers. You can get back to the things you love. You can learn to enjoy just being with yourself when you need to be.

Eventually, you’ll learn to control your urges and emotions on your own. you just need the right support to do it.

DBT is so successful that I often work myself out of a job – You get what you need, so you don’t need me anymore!

Self-Harm

People harm themselves because they get intense relief from doing it.

Emotional pain can be unimaginable. Sufferers use cutting, burning, scratching, and many other types of self-harm to cope with some other big issue.

The difficult thing about just stopping is that it’s really difficult to find something that works as well as the pain inflicted.

Through your time in therapy, you’ll learn a wealth of skills to replace self-harm. Some will work and some won’t, but you’ll be empowered to find what works for you.

If your main concern is a desire to stop self-harming, DBT is most likely your best method of achieving your goal and finding ways to feel whole again.
